I actually knew Scoby as a dancer, since he used to dance for most of Barry Harris' concerts at Symphony Space in the 80s and 90s. He really had an indescribable style (and hopefully somebody has archived videos of some of those concerts). This was a pretty amazing find. Have you figured out what club those signs were from? I teach at Jazzmobile and see Mickey Bass and Cecil Bridgewater every week up there, so I'll ask them if they've got a clue where they came from.
